When I played this game on its stress test, I was very impressed with the design and content Blizzard Entertainment put into its virtual world, Azeroth. The actual beauty of some of the cities they have designed, such as Stormwind, or Mulgore, is stunning. The layout of the screen is good, with a map in the upper right corner, and a usefull bar at the bottom showing spells and abilities. Another bar shows your progress through your characters level, but with the many fantastic quests Blizzard has created, levels are not the focus, unlike other MMORPG's (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Games), which will make this game appeal to more than hardcore gamers. Still, every once in a while, you start to wish that you got a little more experience for a quest. However, with an incredibly engaging world and graphics like you are looking through a window, I'll give this one a nine out of ten. Nice job Blizzard, you've got the right ideas.

I won't lie... I LOVE the game. It's addictive. The problem is, Blizzard's support of the game is pathetic. The servers frequently crash, and there are days that it is impossible to even get online to play the game. I have sat for hours on end trying just to log in to the server. There have been several nights that I have just given up. If Blizzard would actually fix their equipment, I would HIGHLY recommend this game. However, since these problems have been going on for months now, that doesn't seem like it is going to happen. If you are going to waste your money on this game, go to www.worldofwarcraft.com and read the forums first. One last thing, Blizzard is real good about removing the posts that make them look bad once the issue is "resolved." I would suggest checking the forums daily for about a week and just watching them before buying the game.

The only cons are you can't message characters on the opposite alliance and the major cities have terrible lag.
The graphics and options are phenomenal. The game is mainly questing oriented and makes it more interesting to me than other games (such as EQ, whose graphics look "washed out" compared to the color and detail in this one)

Pros: Extremely good graphics
Cons: Major "cities" (zones) in the game are not ready to handle the traffic they are recieving.

This game is AWSOME!!! This is a must-have for any gamer. The graphics are great. The cities are grand, the forests are huge, the dungeons are large, etc. The battle sequence is very good. It would be better if the game would let you have more than 5 people in a party. This game is addicting. I would sit for hours at a time on the computer. If you liked city of heroes, you'll love this game. You can also go into enemy teritory and kill other players! Now THAT'S fun. This game is a must-have. Unless you can't pay the $15 a month. Then, you don't know what you're missing and I feel sorry for you.

The game is very pretty but gets dull when you hit lvl 60 when you try to hunt out uber pieces of gear that take a long time to get to and you might get outrolled on.
In PvP, if you practice at all, you will figure out the different strategies for your class to beat your opponents. Once you figure 1 out, pvp gets old fast. The only room for improvement is to spend hours and hours getting gear in raid instances that may go quickly or slowly depending on the people you are with. Blizzard admits to not balancing classes based on PvP, so some of the classes have an obvious advantage 1v1. Shaman and shadowpriest in particular.
Blizzard has implemented an honor system which can be deceiving to players. It does not encourage "honorable" combat. It honors you when you beat your opponent by whatever means with slight diminishing returns if you choose to camp their body.
Blizzard is implementing a battlegrounds which is a rat race PvP arena styled around WC3 meets capture the flag.
Many of the objectives require a coordinated effort though and once again, you are thrown into an arena in which you might not know anyone and everyone might do their own thing.
Overall, the game is fun to play but should not be played for more than 6 months. The game is designed to be idiot proof and as such appeal to a larger audience. Unfortunately, it is idiot proof and will not amaze avid gamers after a short time period of play.

this game amazed me when i bought it the graphics were beautiful the sounds where amazing the 3D layout everything about this game is amazing but it requires a CREDIT CARD and if you dont have one or your parents wont let you use it im sorry you cant play this game BUT if you have money and want to spend 27.70 every other month you can keep buying pre-paid cards this game is amazing my friend couldnt use his credit card because he had a black card and had to much of a risk of getting stolen if you know what a black card is then you will understand why. but he bought 50 pre-paid cards no joke and he has kept renewing his account with that but this game is a must better than any i have designed except i dont design MMORPG (Massivley Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) this is the greatest game out but PLEASE dont buy this game i beg you not to unless you have a fast connection speed why ruin the fun for others with a slow connection get faster one if you want the game that bad. GREATEST GAME EVER!!!

If your looking for a vast world of fantasy with plenty of places to explore and fun to be had, this is the game to play. The detail that has been put into the graphics and music is absolutely phenominal! The only real draw back to the game is the occasional bug that rears it's head that can shutdown the game or even reboot your machine. If you can live with that it's absolutely awesome and a must have for fantasy lovers!
**Word of warning for 1st time buyers - the initial patch needed once you install it is immense and will take a significant amount of time to download even with a high speed connection.
